A Swinging Success!
Thanks to all who participated in the 2011 Educational Foundation Golf Outing, held August 26 at Mackray Memorial Golf Club. The outing raised over $23,000 for education in our community.
Donations will be used to bring more to the classroom in Barrington 220. In the past 11 years, the Foundation has donated over $1.5 million to District 220’s pre-K, elementary, middle and high schools. As a not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization, we find the funds for initiatives that enhance learning but are not otherwise supported by tax revenues. Projects for 2011-2012 include elementary school art portfolio cameras, middle school document cameras, the “Second Step” social-emotional learning curriculum, enhancements to Barrington High School’s Project Lead the Way Engineering program, and support of the Community Speaker series.
