SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL) at COUNTRYSIDE:
SEL is being promoted and developed across grade levels utilizing the SECOND STEP CURRICULUM and schoolwide POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORTS (PBS). This year we are tying these skills to our Monthly "PAW" Boosters and our School Rules & Expectations: Be Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Ready to Learn. Our set of skills for January/February: "Using Self Talk" We are working on developing strategies and skills to increase academic and social engagement. Utilizing positive self-statements and self-monitoring are powerful tools to help students make good choices in both areas. While our teachers and staff are introducing and practicing these skills/behaviors with students, there are corresponding Home Links for parents.
