Welcome to Countryside Library Media Center! Recommended Reading for statewide programs Below are reading lists for the three programs in which our district elementary students may participate. These are the three student choice award programs in Illinois: Monarch, Bluestem, and Caudill programs. Students can read these books and qualify to vote in February.* These titles are also available at the Barrington Area Public Library. Monarch program ** for grades K-2 Bluestem program** for grades 3+ Caudill program** for grades 4 - 8 Who is eligible to vote? For the Monarch program, children who have read or had read to them at least 5 of the 20 Master List titles. For the Bluestem program, children who have read 4 of the 20 titles. For the Caudill program, students must have read/heard 3 of the 20 titles. **For more information on these three program click here. Book Awards are listed on the left. Titles will be presented to students in September and students must read them in order to vote in February 2012.
